    Prisoner Reentry has been a growing priority of the City of Philadelphia. The link is to the range of programs currently underway to achieve this goal.

    Philadelphia Prison- The Philadelphia Prison web site provides a thorough profile of the census of more than 8,000 prisoners, including the nature of their crimes and the extent of their incarceration.

    The Cost of Crime- City Council testimony documenting the cost of maintaining a prison census of more than 8,000 inmates and calling for a new strategy to reduce recidivism over time.

    Restorative Justice-An international web site with a wide range of resources related to the philosophy of restorative justice, which emphasizes 'restoring' offenders to a point where they can function as responsible members of the community.

     Re-Entry Philadelphia-A report recommending widespread reform of prisoner reentry planning in the Philadelphia Prison System.

    Forensic Intensive Recovery Program-Description of the program supported by the City to end drug dependency and reduce the number of people who return to the Philadelphia Prison.

    Amachi Project-The web site of the Amachi project started by former Mayor Reverend Wilson Goode to recruit volunteers to mentor the children of prisoners
