     Fighting Neighborhood Crime. Creating safe streets and reducing crime generally remains another top priority of the City of Philadelphia. This web page found on PhillyNeighborhoods.org provides fast action to the Police, the Courts, the Prisons, and City programs like Town Watch that aim at involving citizens in the fight against crime.

    Crime Base-Crime Base is a database of major and minor crimes between 1998 and 2004 provided to the Neighborhood Information System at the University of Pennsylvania by the Philadelphia Police Department. It is an invaluable resource, enabling you to track the frequency of a wide range of crimes by census tract, neighborhood, zip code, and City Council District. Anyone serious about reducing crime in his or her neighborhood should learn how to use CrimeBase.
