Philadelphia Crime Data The Crime Data for Philadelphia found on the Police Department web site covers all major crimes committed between 1996 to 2002. It provides a good citywide overview of crime and breaks down major crimes by Police District between 1995 and 2002. Here is the link to the Department’s statistics: Police Department Crime Data Fortunately, the Department has shared its data with Neighborhood Information System (NIS) managed at the University of Pennsylvania as well. Since April, citizens have been able to get crime statistics from 1998-2003 on their web site, organized by census tract, neighborhood, zip code, and City Council District--as you may need it. The user is given great latitude in determining which data he or she wants to download and it can be acquired in various formats (tables, excel spreadsheets, graphs and charts).
