Subscribing to YouthSupportNet

The youthsupportnet email network brings together Philadelphia activists and neighborhood builders online who are working through day care centers, after-school and recreation programs, and human service agencies to improve the quality of life for young people in our neighborhoods.

The list is moderated by Ed Schwartz of the Institute for the Study of Civic Values. All posts are screened to insure that they are relevant to the purpose of the list and to manage the volume of mail on any given day.

As a Yahoo Group, the youthsupportnet  list has a number of useful features on the web page devoted to it. The first time you  this page, Yahoo asks you to register. Don't worry--this is free. And once you do register, you can explore all the email lists in their directory.

While the main activity of an email list are the posts that we receive and send via email, these web resources can be quite useful as well. The calendar is especially helpful, since you can program it to send automatic reminders to list members of upcoming events.
