Established in 1994 as a joint project of the Institute for the Study of Civic Values and the Center for Civic Networking, civic-values supports an ongoing national--even
international--dialogue on public issues, especially as they relate to the basic principles American democracy. This is a high-volume discussion list, with participants from all sections of the country and from a
variety of philosophical perspectives. To get an idea of the exchanges that take place, go to the civic-values archives
and search on terms like "vouchers" or "poverty" or "education" and read what participants have to say about them. Not everyone wants to engage in debate online, but if you do, you won´t find a better list than civic-values.
